Tides weren’t perfect but he did manage a nice tally of small trout, strippies and a few other odds and sods.
After this, we headed out the back of the islands for a bit of a look around. After a bit of a sound around we managed to find some nice shows on the sounder and dropped some jigs down into the action. First drop resulted in a little bludger for me and a dusting to the young fella, that’s when he decided he needed a rest from this deep water stuff haha.
Second drop I hooked what I was looking for, a nice little nanny for dinner and followed it up next drop by hooking a Longtail on the way down. Now we had dinner and sashimi entrée sorted.
The next couple of drops were uneventful and the weather started to turn so we headed for home.
Looks like the wind has put any chance of fishing Island this weekend to bed but the rivers and creeks have had good reports of Mud Crab, Barra and Jacks should be on the chew with all this fresh around.
