Hamilton Island

Hamilton Marina

About

Out of all the islands that make up the chain of 74 in the Whitsundays, Hamilton island is the most populated and has the most amenities. With a population hovering around the 1000 mark it makes the island the most unique with lots of resorts and self-contained accommodation.

Staying on Hamilton island can provide an experience like no other and golf carts can be hired if you desire and given the island is quite large it can be beneficial to explore the lookouts and elevated vantage points in a day.

The beaches of Hamilton Island are as iconically tropical as you can imagine and the restaurants are world class.

Tours and Activities

The neighbouring island of Dent island has a world renown golf course designed by British open winner Peter Thomson. If golf is not your thing then there’s more than enough to keep you entertained with resort style entertainment, pools with swim up bars and nearly any water sport you can imagine including sailing, jet skis and kayaking.

Tours operate out of the island and give you the chance for scenic boat tours, trips to the reef and aerial tours by plane and helicopter. Taking a trip to the Great Barrier Reef will only take about 1.5hrs with diving and snorkelling being second to none.
