Hayman Island truly is one of the most luxurious islands in the Whitsundays if not the world. The exclusive island is home to the One&Only Island Resort which is surrounded by lush tropical rainforest on a beautiful island surrounded by reef.

The island is located 20km from Abel Point Marina and is a private island only for guests of the resort. Unfortunately, the resort is currently closed as it sustained damage from Tropical Cyclone Debbie in March 2017 but by all accounts, the luxury resort should be back, better than ever by mid-2018.

Fishing

Great fishing can be had around the island whether you’re chasing reef species like coral trout or sports fish like Spanish Mackerel and Tuna. It is well advised to make sure you have good charts of the area as the shallow reef can be a hazard on low tide.

Hayman Island is located to the north of Hook Island and is only separated by a small channel that makes targeting fish in that quite successful on the turning tides.
