Hey everyone. Im new here and im taking a trip to QLD at the end of the month. Ill be in brisbane the 23rd and im looking for someone to fish with. I wouldblike to ledge fish for pelagics and GTs but if anyone has a boat id like to go out as well(cost considered). So if anyone is heading out and wouldnt mind a plus one let me know! Ive also been scoping out some islands out of whitsundays if anyones interested in camping and ledge fishing for a couple days. Cheers

Hey Stephen, the tides are building from the 23rd onwards which will get better for GT’s and pelagics. Where are you heading from and have you fished the area before?

If you do make it up this way mate, we’ll be due for some good weather by then but it can be luck of the draw to line up good weather if you only have a small window of time. If you keep your options open though there’s always somewhere to fish whether it’s rivers, dams, islands or the reef. Around Airlie Beach and a lot of other areas close by, due to being quite shallow and tidal, chasing pelagics from shore can be a difficult task to get right on your first attempt. If you don’t mind working the lighter gear with lures and baits from shore, you can have a lot of fun on Queenfish, Flathead, smaller Trevally species, Mackerel, Grunter and Barramundi to name a few. If the weather is good and you do manage to line up a trip out there’s an abundance of options in close and out wide. If you wanted to fish regardless of weather and needed to tick a few boxes off you’re travelling list, hit me up and I can recommend a few charters that can fit the bill.

Haha I like your style Stephen, get it done at all costs. Make sure you hit me up closer to you arriving either here or on the Endless Oceans FB page and we’ll see what’s happening locally to sort out a game plan for you. Bit of luck the weather will play the game and you can bag some sweet fish.

How’s the hunt going Stephen, have you been in contact with anyone recently about getting a trip in? At least you’ll start to get an idea about what the weather will be doing now.

    Hey man,

I havent gotten alot of response from anyone unfortunately. Ive talked with one or two lads who may be able to work a quick day trip in but havent really heard from anyone if theyre dead set on going.

If anyone is free, as long as weather stays good I know what Islands Id like to go to. If you’re down for a 2-3 day camp/fish trip hit me up. It’s out of Mackay but I’ll be flying into brisbane so let me know where you are if you got a free spot on the boat too.

    Cheers

Unfortunately we’ve had a fair bit of average weather the last couple of months and long range forecasts for here can be really out so it can be hard to commit too far ahead of time. Hope it comes together for you though.

Yea mate, understandable. I’ll be in Brissy in about an hour so if anyone is going out this week let me know. Still plan to go to Mackay or Whitsundays midweek if weather holds out.

Hey mate meant to message you the other day. If you’re still in Mackay I’d probably look to get over to Keswick Island. They have camping and transport options to the island and you can even get pre-set up tents to lighten the load and give you the freedom to explore without having to cart too much gear.
